Introduction to Mosaics by Mosaic Whimsies

The introductory class on June 4th offers students a variety of pieces to create – either an outdoor garden art piece, choices including: a terra cotta pot (8′ diameter); or a stepping stone (circle, square, butterfly, flower or heart); indoor pieces including: a decorative bowl; or plate; or a picture frame. I will also allow students (returning students who have already done the other pieces) the option to mosaic a bowling ball. Regardless, students will learn how to cut and manipulate china shards, placement and design techniques, use of adhesive and grouting. An instructional guide is also available after class.
