SCHERERVILLE | The front courtyard at Watson Elementary School is now a showpiece thanks to the efforts of the Watson PTO, student council, teachers and students and generous business owners.
The courtyard includes four, large raised planters and a corner planting area that had sat empty since the beginning of the school year after some mature trees that were dying had to be removed.
After getting estimates to add some new plantings following a design drawn up by the PTO, teachers and a volunteer, Ray Linz from Red Bud Landscaping in Schererville offered to try to get some plant materials donated by Alsip Home and Nursery.
