Dunk Tank (10am-5pm)
Now here's the real fun part. Like sitting ducks, we'll be taking the hot seat in our dunk tank. Make us take a dive and you'll win $5, on an Alsip Gift Card or a Webkinz for the kids. $3 for 3 throws and all proceeds go to Camp Quality, a summer camping experience and year-round support program for children with cancer.

Summer is a time to relax and enjoy the garden, but Alsip Nursery knows all too well some of the frustrations their customers experience throughout this season. To help, we’ve planned a series of informational seminars:
Seminar Schedule
10am - Summer Perennial Care
Perennials play the important role in the landscape of adding color and interest year after year. Learn tips and techniques for establishing and maintaining a successful perennial garden throughout the summer and into fall.
11am - Summer Annual Care
Loved for the dramatic punch of summer color they bring to the landscape, annual flowers present special care challenges with summer heat and drought conditions—especially when they’re planted in pots and containers. Learn proper care techniques, including planting, watering and pruning when necessary to promote new growth.
1pm - Summer Rose Care
Alsip’s own rose expert will discuss "Serious Fertilizing for Roses" along with other success factors to create and maintain a beautiful rose garden throughout the season.
2pm - Summer Lawn Care
Learn about summer lawn care, including tips for fertilizing and treating for insects and lawn disease. Also covered will be procedures for sodding, seeding and reseeding lawns as well as recommendations on what type of grass is best used in the summer heat.
